I am at the auto rental counter ready to sign and go when all of
a sudden the customer service representative ask if I want to buy
CDW to relieve me of all damage responsibility. In most case your personal auto insurance will cover you in case of accident or some credit card companies extend coverage while you are renting a vehicle. Please be careful because the credit card coverage maybe secondary coverage which means the claim is submitted to your personal insurance first. I always suggest to my clients to review their personal policy and if a credit card company offers CDW coverage read the policy thoroughly. Outside the U.S., I strongly suggest purchasing the damage waiver. Driving and insurance regulations are different in each country.. |
