this winsome powder puff
of cunning kitten wisdom
from silky milkweed fluff.
I never saw so soft a prize,
or one so round and fat!
How did such cute material
go into just one cat?
And where was topaz found so fine
as that which makes her eyes?
Where did the fairies find a purr
among their wee supplies?
I think these precious "whiskered elves"
must surely have been planned.
Especially for folks like me...
